Career and Job Readiness

Dr. Elly D. Lasson is an Organizational Psychologist with over two decades of experience in Human Resources. During that time, he has served as a Consultant, Manager, Director, and Professor. Notable non-profits with which he has worked include Yeshiva University’s RIETS/CJF, the Orthodox Union, National Council of Young Israel, Avi Chai Foundation, and the Met Council on Jewish Poverty.

Dr. Lasson is currently Professor of the Practice and Graduate Program Director for the Masters in I/O Psychology at University of Maryland Baltimore County. He also practices as a Human Capital Consultant with Lasson Talent Solutions advising private and nonprofit sectors nationally. He was formally the Executive Director of Joblink of Maryland, a community-based nonprofit organization supporting the employment objectives of members of the Baltimore Jewish community.

Dr. Lasson has expertise in career development and Human Resource Management and has been a sought after resource nationally about employment and training for young adults. He has been featured with recent media appearances on WBAL Radio, Fox45 Baltimore, and the Nachum Segal network. He has also been a regular presenter at “Parnassa Expo”. His articles have appeared in the Jewish Link of Bergen County, the Baltimore Jewish Times, Yahoo! Finance, and Huffington Post. He writes a blog on workplace topics called Elliot@Work and is regularly quoted online for and other workplace sites.

Dr. Lasson is a Jewish day school graduate who also studied in Ner Israel Rabbinical College, earning his Bachelor’s of Talmudic Law. He earned his B.A. in Psychology as well as his M.A. and Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.

He resides in Baltimore and is married to Shayndee, a Speech & Language Pathologist. They are the proud parents of three children, Yaakov, Yaelle, and Leora. Dr. Lasson is continuing along in his second cycle of the Daf Yomi.
